The salary for this permanent Counsellor/Therapist job is £27,000 per annum.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Client Assessments: Contribute to client assessments, ensuring that their needs are identified within agreed timescales.
- Therapeutic Support: Provide 1:1 counselling and run group therapy sessions, helping clients work through substance misuse and related issues.
- Collaborative Reviews: Work with probation officers, health professionals, and other key workers to review each client’s progress regularly.
- Addiction Counselling: Help individuals overcome substance use and address any related behaviours, guiding them towards a brighter future.
- Maintain Records: Ensure all client information, attendance, and progress are accurately recorded.
- Detox Support: Help clients through detox and stabilisation, using a range of therapeutic approaches to promote health and recovery.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain all necessary case records, reports, and paperwork to ensure smooth operations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Substance Misuse Experience: At least 2 years of direct work with substance-misusing clients, with 1 year in a therapeutic setting.
- Counselling Qualification: Level 4 (or higher) in Counselling or an equivalent qualification.
- Programme Development: Experience in creating and delivering therapeutic support programmes.
- Group-Work Skills: Proven experience in facilitating group therapy and client assessments.
- Adaptability & Communication: A flexible, open-minded approach with strong communication skills to manage clients, volunteers, and staff.
- Team Player: Experience working with both statutory and non-statutory agencies.
- Organisational Skills: Strong planning and administrative abilities, with a commitment to developing treatment programmes.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety policies, especially in assessing high-risk situations for clients.
