Electronic Repair Technician
Are you an experienced technician with a passion for diagnosing and repairing electronic assemblies? This is your opportunity to join a leading engineering organisation that plays a crucial role in refurbishing and maintaining safety-critical electronic equipment across specialist sectors.
The Role: You will work as part of a dedicated test bench team, ensuring the effective refurbishment and repair of electronic, electrical and mechanical assemblies to high standards. The successful candidate will be involved in diagnostic, fault-finding, and reverse engineering activities that directly support customer satisfaction and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct electronic and electrical refurbishments using test equipment to high quality standards.

Perform fault finding, diagnosis, and reverse engineering on a range of electronic systems.

Ensure equipment and tools are checked regularly and faults reported promptly.

Support the development of standard test and repair procedures.

Engage in continuous improvement of test and repair operations.

Provide technical support and share knowledge within the team.

Uphold health & safety best practices and contribute to risk assessments.
About You:

Skilled in soldering (surface mount and through-hole); IPC-610 and IPC-7711/21 experience preferred.

Proficient with electronic test equipment and diagnostic software.

Comfortable with crimping, mechanical assembly, and torque tightening.

Strong communicator, capable of working to priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Able to interpret technical drawings and contribute to problem-solving.
Desirable Experience:

Previous experience in a workshop or rail service electronics environment.

Familiarity with railway electronic equipment is a plus.
Qualifications:

ONC/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in electrical/electronic/engineering.

Ideally time-served apprenticeship and relevant vocational training.
