Pay rate (Assignment rate): £44 per hour
Contract Length: 3-Months
The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) to ensure high-quality reviews of care plans and services provided to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the review process for children in care to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead and manage a team of IROs, ensuring they provide thorough, child-centered reviews and recommendations.
- Ensure that all care plans are regularly reviewed, addressing the changing needs of children and young people.
- Provide strategic input to improve services for children and young people in care.
- Liaise with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to ensure robust planning and care for every child.
- Monitor and report on the performance of the IRO team, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Handle any escalations, complaints, or concerns relating to the care of children in the system.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in safeguarding and children’s services.
Requirements for the Independent Reviewing Manager role:
- Degree in Social Work or a related field (e.g., youth work, social care).
- Professional registration with relevant bodies (in the UK, this is typically Social Work England).
- Postgraduate qualifications in management or social care may be beneficial but not always essential.
- Significant experience in social work, specifically working with children in care, care leavers, or vulnerable young people.
- Management or supervisory experience within a social care or child protection setting.
- Experience working within multi-agency teams (e.g., health, education, housing services).
- Qualifications: Relevant degree in social work, health, or related field.
