The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist job is £35,392 – £42,618 per annum.

What’s the Job About?

As an Occupational Therapist (Band 6), you’ll be at the heart of helping clients regain their independence and enhance their quality of life. You’ll be responsible for assessing and treating clients with neurological conditions such as acquired brain injuries, strokes, and incomplete spinal injuries. You’ll create personalised treatment plans, helping clients reach their goals and prepare for that all-important move home. You’ll also play a vital role in supporting and mentoring junior staff and students, contributing to the growth of the team and the services that are offered.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct OT assessments and develop tailored treatment plans to help clients regain functional independence.
  • Support clients through the rehabilitation process, acting as their key worker and helping them navigate their stay, therapy, and discharge plans.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including physios, speech therapists, and psychologists, to provide a holistic approach to care.
  • Lead home visits and assess clients’ environments, recommending adaptations and equipment to improve their independence at home.
  • Be part of a supportive, passionate team, mentoring Band 5 OTs, students, and therapy support workers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest in neurorehabilitation and actively contribute to the continued development of our therapy services.
  • Keep accurate client records and contribute to case conferences, ensuring we provide the best possible outcomes for everyone.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation and working with clients with complex physical conditions.
  • A problem-solving mindset and the ability to use your initiative to make sound clinical decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A passion for helping others and a compassionate approach to working with clients and their families.
