Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 7 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to take on a new locum opportunity based in Greater London, within the CAMHS Team.

Location: Uxbridge

Contract Type: Locum, ongoing block booking.

Pay Rate: £31 per hour (assignment rate)

Role Overview:
As a CAMHS Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in assessing and supporting children and young people referred to the service. Your work will help shape their treatment plans and provide vital support to both them and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive CAMHS Assessments
    Conduct thorough assessments of children and young people referred to the team, identifying their mental health needs and creating care plans.

  • Screening & Triage Appointments
    Provide initial screenings and triage appointments to prioritise care for children and young people referred to CAMHS.

  • Case Management
    Manage cases for young people awaiting treatment, contributing to specialist care plans that address a range of presenting mental health challenges.

  • Treatment Planning
    Develop treatment or management plans using evidence-based methods, tailored to the unique needs of each child or young person across different care settings.

  • Risk Assessment & Management
    Conduct risk assessments and manage risk for individual children and young people, offering advice to other professionals on best practices.

  • Care Plan Oversight
    Act as the case manager, taking responsibility for initiating, planning, and reviewing CAMHS care plans in collaboration with young people, their families, carers, and professionals involved in their care.

  • Communication & Progress Monitoring
    Communicate treatment plans and updates sensitively to children, young people, and their families, while also monitoring their progress throughout the treatment process.

  • Urgent Response Support
    Participate in the local duty rota, providing urgent support when needed, which may include working as part of an evening clinic.

  • Parental and Crisis Support
    Offer support to parents and young people who seek help between clinic appointments or during times of crisis.

  • Liaison with Schools and Agencies
    Maintain close collaboration with schools and other involved agencies to ensure coordinated care for the young people in your caseload.

  • Report Writing
    Prepare and deliver reports to external agencies while managing confidentiality appropriately.

  • Additional Nursing Roles
    Take on other relevant nursing responsibilities as needed, contributing to the broader work of the CAMHS team.

 

Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Valid NMC Registration
