Main duties:
- Provide social work services, handling complex cases, assessing and managing risks, and sharing specialist knowledge for practice development.
- Support the Quality Assurance and Improvement Team by identifying areas for service improvement and good practice through audits.
- Collaborate with Partner agencies to develop and conduct multi-agency audits, ensuring efficient support for children, young people, and families.
- Assist with arranging case file audits, distributing and filing them per procedures, and gathering feedback from children, young people, and families on services received.
- Support senior colleagues in analyzing audit findings, reviewing policies, and enhancing professional development for practitioners.
- Conduct DIP sampling on specific topics, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement in line with audit activities.
- Assist Children in Care services, including Future Directions, residential, and fostering services.
- Help senior colleagues prioritize, allocate, and review work, ensuring efficient budget management and quality assurance.
- Contribute to service monitoring, needs analysis, and policy development to maintain high service quality.
- Manage complex cases, promoting independence, early intervention, and self-directed support to meet targets and improve quality of life for service users.
- Support the team in Ofsted-related activities, including evidence collection and preparation for inspections.
- Undertake additional audit tasks as assigned to the Quality Assurance and Improvement Service
Requirements of the Social Work Advanced Practitioner:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
- Experience working with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection planning
- Ideally experience working within the Public Law Outline and Court proceedings
