Key Responsibilities:

As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the early educational experiences of your students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons that adhere to the National Curriculum.

  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of each child.

  • Assessing and monitoring students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.

  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a cohesive teaching approach.

  • Engaging with parents and caregivers to foster a supportive school community and enhance students’ learning experiences.

Requirements to of the Year 1 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Required to teach in maintained primary schools in England.

  • Relevant Teaching Degree or PGCE: A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

  • Enhanced DBS Check: A clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as you will be working with children.

  • Experience with Early Years or Key Stage 1: Prior experience teaching in an early years or primary setting is beneficial.

  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum: A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum to effectively plan and deliver lessons.
