Work Arrangement: 4 days in office, 1 day remote

About the Role

A growing engineering organisation specialising in industrial automation and power control solutions is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer/Programmer to join its Canberra-based team.

This role involves contributing to the delivery of automation systems across a variety of industries, including energy and manufacturing. It is well-suited to a recent graduate looking to build hands-on experience in industrial computing, automation, and control systems, with structured training and mentorship provided.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for automation, including I/O, instrumentation, and actuator wiring
  • Program, test, and commission PLC and RTU-based automation systems
  • Configure and test process visualisation and HMI systems
  • Perform data modelling using internal and external tools
  • Configure industrial communication systems, including IP and serial networks
  • Develop system design, testing, and operational documentation
  • Support and maintain existing systems, including occasional interstate travel

Essential Requirements

  • Australian citizenship
  • Completed undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related discipline

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of electrical circuit theory
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian standards (e.g., ELV systems)
  • Knowledge of Boolean algebra
  • Understanding of state machines and practical applications
  • Exposure to PLC and RTU-based control systems
