PeoplePlus is recruiting dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Workers to join a children’s residential home in Marston Green.

Our home provides high-quality residential care and support for children and young people aged 8–17 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Key Responsibilities

Care and Support

Provide high-quality care, support, and supervision to children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Build positive and trusting relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model.
Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each young person’s needs.
Encourage and promote independence, life skills, confidence, and personal development through daily routines and planned activities.
Support young people with education, hobbies, social activities, and community engagement.

Safeguarding and Compliance

Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare and protection of children at all times.
Report concerns, incidents, or disclosures promptly and appropriately.
Work in accordance with Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and care documentation.

Behaviour Support

Promote positive behaviour and implement agreed behaviour management strategies.
Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively and safely.
Provide emotional support and create a stable environment that promotes positive outcomes.
Teamwork and Communication

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, education professionals, and other stakeholders.
Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and mandatory training.
Communicate effectively with children and young people, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.

Household and Daily Living

Support the day-to-day running of the home, including meal preparation, household tasks, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Participate in outings, recreational activities, educational trips, and holidays as required.

Requirements

Essential

Genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts where required.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

Previous experience working in residential childcare, social care, education, youth work, or a similar setting.
Relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards one.
