Pearson Carter

Senior Software Engineer

We’re building the #1 platform for secure b2b file transfers and automation, and our approach is grounded in intent based leadership – giving every team member the autonomy and trust to make decisions that move us forward.

We have global customers and form critical infrastructure for some of the biggest (and smallest) companies in the world – right here from little old Christchurch.

Here, you won’t be a cog in the machine. You’ll be a key part of a lean, collaborative team where your ideas, initiative, and intent directly shape the future of our product and the success of our customers.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be at the core of designing, building, and scaling the next generation of our platform. You’ll work closely with other engineers, our customer success team and other business units where everyone leads through intent and shared purpose.

You’ll have both the freedom and the responsibility to own major projects end-to-end, contribute to architectural decisions, and help mentor junior engineers. In our setup, your impact will be visible, immediate, and meaningful.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable software solutions that power our core

platform

  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with a focus on performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with a small, highly capable team where intent drives action
  • Take ownership of projects and make decisions that accelerate delivery and quality
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in a distributed, cloud-native environment
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their growth

What We’re Looking For

  • 5 years of experience as a software engineer (or equivalent)
  • A bachelor in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • Strong expertise in Python, Node.js, React, Golang
  • Experience building and scaling distributed systems or SaaS platforms
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
  • A proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills

Why Join Us?

  • A small, empowered team where your work drives real change
  • Culture built on intent-based leadership—we trust you to lead, not wait for orders
  • Competitive compensation and equity package
  • Remote-friendly and flexible working environment
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and take ownership of high-impact projects
