+ Working Hours – Community Sessions
Community sessions run for 3 hours in total: 30 minutes set-up, a 2-hour workshop, and 30 minutes pack-down.
Sessions typically take place on weekday evenings or Saturday mornings depending on the venue.
Before your first session, you will complete a paid onboarding and induction (billed at £15.00), which covers
ThreadPoint’s curriculum framework, safeguarding procedures, and community delivery approach.
+ The Role
Community sessions at ThreadPoint bring together children and adults to explore the world through story, building, and curiosity. As a Generalist Support facilitator in community settings, you work alongside the Generalist Lead to ensure the session runs smoothly and every participant — from a five-year-old to a grandparent — feels included, supported, and inspired.
This role is ideal for someone dependable, warm, and confident supporting a lead facilitator across a diverse, mixed-age group.
+ Responsibilities
· Support the Generalist Lead throughout the community session
· Assist participants of all ages with hands-on STEM and creative building activities
· Help foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for children and adults alike
· Support quieter or less confident participants to engage with the activities
· Follow the lead of the Generalist Lead and take direction clearly and promptly
· Assist with set-up and pack-down of all workshop materials
· Wear ThreadPoint identification so participants can easily find support
· Interact warmly and professionally with community members and venue staff
· Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all children in the session
· Complete the ThreadPoint post-session timesheet and invoicing form within 48 hours

· Are warm, approachable, and comfortable with people of all ages
· Are dependable, punctual, and a strong team player who follows direction well
· Are comfortable in lively, community-based environments
· Are happy to take initiative and support wherever it’s needed
· Hold or are willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate
· Have the right to work in the UK
+ Desirable (But not Essential)
· Experience in community work, youth work, or informal education
· SEND awareness and experience supporting participants with additional needs
· Interest in STEM, digital literacy, construction, or the built environment
· Familiarity with digital gaming environments
· Acting, performance, or storytelling experience

Facilitators are required to adhere to ThreadPoint’s safeguarding and child protection policy at all times and to immediately report any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.
