Contract role, Maternity cover : Buyer.


Buyer Hourly Rate: £20 – £25ph DOE

Orion is partnered with a well-established steel fabrication business located in Dunstable which is recruiting for an experienced Buyer to assist with the running of the procurement side of the business.


Buyer responsibilities:

  • Ordering of consumables
  • Dealing with suppliers
  • Managing and sending quotes
  • All administrative duties
  • Managing BACS payments
  • Procurement
  • Document control
  • Dealing with proforma
  • Checking drawings to ensure that the full bill of materials is included.
  • Sending back unused or unwanted products
  • Arrange couriers as and when needed
  • Chasing credit notes
  • Stock management


Buyer Experience:

  • Must have experience in either the construction, manufacturing or engineering industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Supplier management skills
  • Microsoft packages including word, excel etc..
  • SAGE Accounts
  • Strong administration skills
  • Stock management
  • Flexible and able to manage priorities, resolve problems, and escalate issues in a fast-paced environment.


Buyer Shifts: Monday – Friday 8:30 ” 16:30

Maternity cover starting ASAP, Finishing in August 2024 – Potential to be extended
