Electronics Sales Engineer

Worthing

£30k – £40k (depending on experience)

 

Join an established and rapidly growing electronics manufacturing organization based in Worthing. We specialize in delivering high-quality electronic components and PCBs to our clients. With a dynamic and collaborative work environment, we are seeking an Electronics Sales Engineer to support our sales team in expanding our market presence.

 

As an Electronics Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales efforts by producing accurately estimated bids and proposals. Working closely with internal teams and customers, you will ensure that all bids are prepared in accordance with required timescales and company processes to maximize sales opportunities.

 

Electronics Sales Engineer Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate with internal engineers and customers on Bill of Materials (BoM) and data queries, providing alternatives for customer approval.
  • Prepare BoM/data using MES system for internal engineering sign-off.
  • Estimate Requests for Quotation (RFQs) using automated electronic quoting software for material and labour.
  • Load and progress quotes using ERP system, ready for sales sign-off.
  • Update system with relevant information on customer, company, and opportunity/prospects log, ensuring daily and accurate updates.
  • Attend customer meetings as required.
  • Manage inbound enquiries via email and phone.
  • Undertake administrative duties and other relevant roles as required to meet departmental needs.
  • Obtain competitive and accurate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

 

Metrics:

 

  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations to develop detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs promptly.
  • Identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
  • Review and analyse bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Follow up with customers on quotes provided but not responded to, providing data to Sales on quotes not accepted.
  • Coordinate with Despatch and Production at all stages of the order, ensuring customer expectations are met without causing inefficiencies within the department.
  • Load and/or acknowledge all RFQs and Sales Orders within 24 hours (ideally same day) or within given timescales.

 

Electronics Sales Engineer Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Minimum of HND in an Engineering discipline.
  • Ability to understand engineering concepts, electronic components/PCBs manufacturing methods, and drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Sales experience desirable.
  • Experience with CRM/ERP/MES system is advantageous.
