Job distribution and candidate attraction

Buyer's guide

Job distribution and candidate attraction tools post your vacancies to many job boards at once, help you search CV databases and show which channels bring the candidates you place. The aim is more of the right applicants for less time and money.

What to look for

  • The boards that matter to you. Check it covers the job boards, social channels and specialist sites your sectors use, and that adding new ones is easy.
  • Tracking all the way to placement. Application numbers can flatter. The best tools show which channels lead to interviews and placements, so you know where to spend.
  • It works with your ATS. Jobs should go out from your ATS, and applicants should come back into it without retyping. Check the Works with pages.
  • Better adverts. Templates, writing help and checks for biased language help every consultant write adverts that work.
  • CV search across databases. Searching several CV databases at once saves time, if you already pay for access to them.

Questions to ask before you sign

  • Which job boards are included, and which need our own contracts?
  • How is it priced: per user, per post or per month?
  • Can it show us the cost per application and per placement for each channel?
  • How do applicants come back into our ATS?
  • What happens when the same person applies twice?

Watch out for

  • Paying for job board slots you don't use. Review your board contracts alongside the software.
  • Reports that stop at the application. Ask to see placement tracking working.
