Buyer's guide

Software is what your agency runs on: your ATS and CRM, job distribution, your website, billing and screening. The right choice saves time on every desk; the wrong one costs you for years. A few rules apply whatever you're buying.

What to look for

  • Built for recruitment agencies. General business software rarely understands clients, candidates, placements and fees.
  • It fits with what you have. Every new system should connect to your ATS and CRM. See the Works with pages.
  • Support you can reach. Find out who you'll speak to when something goes wrong, and how quickly they'll answer.
  • Room to grow. Check how the price and features change as you add people, offices or countries.

Questions to ask before you sign

  • How long does setup take, and what do you need from us?
  • What's the total cost in the first year, including setup, training and integrations?
  • What's the minimum term and notice period?
  • How do we get our data out if we leave?
  • Can we speak to an agency like ours that uses it?

Watch out for

  • Contracts that renew automatically with long notice periods.
  • Paying for features nobody uses. Start with what you need and add more later.
  • Choosing on the demo alone. Ask for a trial or a reference call.
